Home to the Bush Theatre, the Lyric Hammersmith and numerous dance and sports clubs, our little borough is rarely short of events. A global pandemic may have slowed us down, but our innovative local community has embraced the virtual world so you don’t miss out on fun opportunities.

In this live-action adaptation of the beloved fairytale, old woodcarver Gepetto (Roberto Benigni), fashions a wooden puppet, Pinocchio (Federico Ielapi), who magically comes to life. This is one of the most ambitious film adaptations to date of Carlo Collodi's 1883 kid classic.

"Monday Monologues" (theatre series)

This series brings you new work from the most exciting UK and Irish writers, including Travis Alabanza, Natasha Brown, Shaun Dunne, Sophie Ellerby and Tristan Fynn-Aiduenu.

Written and recorded during the lockdown, the monologues will be released fortnightly from 18 May and will be available to watch available to watch on IGTV, Twitter, Youtube and the Bush Theatre website for the next 12 months.

Filmmaking, Acting for Film and TV 18-25

A week long filmmaking course led by a professional production company where you will learn acting techniques for Film and TV as well as the skills to create short films.

This course will be delivered online using zoom. For those who don’t have access to a laptop with internet connection, and a smartphone, the Lyric will endeavour to provide equipment where possible.

The course will take place from Monday 17 – Friday 21 August, 11am – 4pm.

Each participant will receive professional production equipment including, a microphone, tripod and lens for a smartphone provided by the Lyric, to be returned upon completion of the course.

You need to be a Young Lyric Member to book on this course.

£50 (Bursary places available, contact learning@lyric.co.uk for details)

Join award winning London Walks guide and Palaeontologist Dr Aaron W. Hunter as he takes you around on of the most iconic museums of Natural History in the world. He will introduce to you the great scientists of the 19th century and their fossil discoveries. As well as show how today this museum is at the forefront of scientific research.
This is a virtual tour via Zoom. Tickets are £8 per person.

A week long filmmaking course in partnership with Action on Disability. The course will be led by a professional production company where you will learn acting techniques for Film and TV as well as the skills to create short films.

This course will be delivered online using zoom. For those who don’t have access to a laptop with internet connection, and a smartphone, the Lyric will endeavour to provide equipment where possible..

Each participant will receive professional production equipment including, a microphone, tripod and lens for a smartphone provided by the Lyric, to be returned upon completion of the course.

This course is specifically for young disabled people aged 14+, all spaces for this course are FREE of charge, please contact Lisa.Monzon@aod.org.uk to apply.A week long filmmaking course led by a professional production company where you will learn acting techniques for Film and TV as well as the skills to create short films.

The course will take place from the 24th until the 28th August.

Adaptative Football session with Fulham FC Foundation

Disability Sports Coach and the Fulham FC Foundation are organising a FRE "Virtual Summer Festival live football session" for people with disabilities! All you'll need for this fun session is any ball (or rolled up socks) and four objects to make a square.

Substance Awareness Webinar

This is a 2 hour training webinar offering a greater knowledge of problematic substance use. By attending this session you will gain a greater understanding of the range and effects of substance use on physical and psychological health, be more aware of the signs and symptoms of overdose, different attitudes to substances and categories of substances, signs of substance misuse and where to get help.
