Community Days Out opens for business

Community Days Out, which offers affordable family trips for local H&F residents, is restarting its operations from August.

The company, which is run by Fulham-based entrepreneurs, Jemma Greenslade and Ashlie Stephens, runs coach trips to different parts of the UK and Europe from the borough. Previous days out have taken families to beaches, theme parks and European markets at Christmas time.

They were forced to stop all trips in March but they’ll be back in business this summer with UK beach outings. “We’re starting with outdoor locations where you can socially distance and taking all the necessary safety precautions,” Jemma told H&F Circles. “We’ll be having fewer people on the trips,  hand sanitiser on the coach, temperature checks and all adults will be required to wear masks.” While the company is hoping to go further afield later in the year, safety will come first.

The coaches will do pick ups at Fulham Broadway, Parsons Green, and either Imperial or Townmead Road. Community Days Out is currently trying to expand to Hammersmith and Shepherds Bush, and additional stops may be possible upon request.

Jemma says that the coach trips are a cheaper way to travel than train, and more environmentally friendly than cars. “The environment is a big priority for our business. We give out bin bags for people to take their rubbish away and we encourage people to pick up any additional rubbish they see on their way back to the coach. Keeping outdoor spaces clean and tidy is something I have always encouraged my own children to do and now it's part of what we do at Community Days Out.”

Bookings can be made now and deposits are refundable if government guidelines change.
